Topic of the conference: The media economy has long been considered according to a sectorial approach based on the industrial economy and which accompanied competition and regulation policies. With digitalization, this approach is shattering, shifting from a supply-side logic to a demand-side logic interfaced with the means of content distribution. However, this new logic is not taken into account in regulation because it fails to think of media as ecosystems by integrating platforms. Alexandre Joux will present his approach to thinking about platformization. This approach is based on the analysis of players’ strategies.
